Shahed Attack: Air Defense Forces intercepted 38 strike drones; operations are still ongoing.

Since the evening of November 5, Russian forces have been launching attacks on Ukraine using Shahed drones. The air defense systems have successfully destroyed 38 out of 63 drones. Efforts to combat the remaining UAVs are still ongoing.

Since the evening of November 5, Russian forces have been attacking Ukraine with Shaheds. The air defense has destroyed 38 out of 63 strike drones. The combat operations against the drones are still ongoing.

This information was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that from 20:00 on November 5, the enemy launched strikes:

  • with two guided aviation missiles X-59 and X-31P from the Black Sea towards Odesa;
  • with 63 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and unidentified drones (launch directions - Bryansk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, Orel, and Cape Chauda in Crimea).

The air assault was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. As of 07:30 on November 6, the downing of 38 Shaheds has been confirmed in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhia regions.

"20 enemy drones have been locally destroyed in various regions of Ukraine, with another two in the airspace of Ukraine. Combat operations are ongoing!" - stated the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Consequences of the Night Attack on November 6

In Mykolaiv region, seven Shaheds were destroyed during the night of November 6. However, due to the enemy's attack on energy infrastructure, there are power outages for consumers.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, energy workers have already restored power to a significant portion of consumers, and recovery efforts are continuing. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
