On the night of February 6, drones attacked an airfield in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. From there, the enemy launches Shaheds to strike Ukrainian cities. Reports indicate a fire at the site.
This was reported by the Russian media outlet ASTRA. The information was also confirmed by Andriy Kovalенко, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.
"In the area of the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield, where the strike occurred, there is one of the depots with Shaheds," the message states.
Witnesses are sharing videos from the scene, which show intense flames and smoke at the airfield.
Russian occupiers have started using new types of Shahed drones for attacks on Ukraine. Their warhead has significantly increased, reaching up to 90 kg. Additionally, the interior of the UAV contains metal elements—shrapnel.
Earlier, the Russian military leadership changed the tactics of Shahed attacks on Ukraine. The enemy aims for drone airstrikes to occur almost around the clock. This way, the Russians pursue several goals at once: primarily, they save on their missiles, conduct reconnaissance, and psychologically pressure Ukrainians.
