On the night of February 4, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 37 attack drones. The Russian army targeted Ukrainian territory with these drones. Additionally, 28 decoy drones failed to reach their targets and were lost in the airspace.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to official data, from 8:00 PM on February 3, Russia launched an airstrike, deploying 65 Shahed-type kamikaze drones, as well as decoy drones of various modifications. The enemy UAVs were launched from the territories of the Bryansk, Kursk, and Oryol regions of the Russian Federation.
To counter the attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare assets were engaged. As of 9:00 AM, the destruction of 37 drones has been confirmed across five regions: Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy. The other 28 drones were lost during flight and caused no damage.
"As a result of the attack, there were damages to facilities in Sumy and Cherkasy regions," the Air Forces reported.
As a result of the drone strike last night, fires broke out at three enterprises in Cherkasy. Fortunately, there were no casualties. According to the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, air defense forces shot down 12 enemy Shaheds over the region during the night.
