The Russian army has lost an additional 2030 servicemen over the past day and as of the morning of November 29. The enemy is suffering significant losses in military equipment as well, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces taking out eight tanks, 33 armored vehicles, and 34 artillery systems. Additionally, many missiles and drones have been destroyed.
For more details on the enemy's losses in personnel and equipment, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. The military emphasized that since the beginning of the war, the total losses of the enemy have reached 738,660 personnel. The Russians have also lost the following military equipment:
Russian servicemen have begun to desert the battlefield en masse. Not only are ordinary soldiers fleeing their positions, but officers are as well. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), desertion rates among Russians have risen. For example, over a thousand soldiers have deserted from the Russian 20th Motorized Rifle Division (which is nearly a battalion). Among the reasons for desertion, the occupiers cite high losses and poor staffing for combat operations.
The reasons for desertion are easily explained by British data on the average daily losses of the Russian Federation. In October alone, these figures reached record levels. According to Admiral and Commander of the UK Armed Forces Tony Radakin, the Russians were losing 1,500 soldiers every day. By the end of October, the total losses in the Russian Federation had exceeded 700,000 occupiers.
The enemy is also losing servicemen in Kursk. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, since the beginning of military operations in this Russian region, the enemy has lost 20,000 servicemen as of early November 2024. The significant personnel losses have compelled Russia to seek assistance from North Korea for manpower.
