Sea drones targeted Russian-occupied gas platforms near Crimea, leaving the enemy suddenly "blinded."

Ukraine successfully conducted an operation in the Black Sea waters near the temporarily occupied coast of Crimea. On the night of December 7, naval drones of the Ukrainian Navy—whose fleet was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky—struck gas platforms previously seized by the occupiers. As a result of this military operation, the Russians were unexpectedly "blinded," losing the surveillance systems located on these installations.

Ukraine successfully conducted an operation in the Black Sea waters near the temporarily occupied coast of Crimea. Naval drones of the Ukrainian Navy, which were announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky, struck gas platforms previously seized by the occupiers on the night of December 7. As a result of the military operation, the Russians were unexpectedly "blinded," losing the surveillance systems located on these sites.

Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa reported the successful military operation involving naval drones on Facebook. He confirmed the destruction of Russian surveillance systems in the Crimea region.

According to Neizhpapa, the gas platforms were attacked by Ukraine's naval drones. The quantity and type of drones were not specified, but it was noted that the strikes were successful. Consequently, the enemy lost its own surveillance systems near Crimea, effectively becoming blind.

Naval drones keep the occupiers on edge in the Black Sea and Russian ships in Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine presented modernized Sea Baby naval drones of the new generation. These unmanned vehicles have significantly enhanced combat power and a record range for hitting targets. They can now monitor the Black Sea, striking Russian ships with a single salvo.

The Ukrainian SBU actively employs unmanned naval drones in the fight against Russian ships in the Black Sea. These drones, developed by Ukrainian specialists, have become a true nightmare for enemy vessels.

For the first time, the SBU used a domestically produced naval drone in October 2022, delivering an attack on ships in Sevastopol Bay. The strike resulted in damage to four Russian vessels.

In September 2023, the SBU utilized an experimental model of the "Sea Baby" drone to attack an enemy ship, which, thanks to its design, can effectively operate even in stormy conditions, making it elusive. On September 30, 2023, Volodymyr Zelensky officially announced the creation of the world's first fleet of naval drones, emphasizing its importance for the protection of Ukrainian waters.

In just one year of existence, the fleet of naval drones has demonstrated its effectiveness, striking 7 enemy ships: "Admiral Makarov," "Ivan Golubets," "Ivan Khurs," "Sergiy Kotov," "Oil Beacon," "Shark," and "Sern."
