At the border between Ukraine and Moldova, the operation of border checkpoints has been temporarily suspended. Currently, crossing operations are not being conducted, resulting in a decrease in passenger traffic.

On November 7, Andrii Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, announced this during a telethon. He provided an update on the situation at the border with Moldova.

"Speaking about the border with Moldova, the checkpoints are not operational, and temporarily there are no crossing operations being conducted in the Transnistrian segment," the spokesman stated.

According to Demchenko, compared to the summer period, passenger traffic at the border has declined. In the past day, 80,000 individuals crossed the border. On weekends, passenger traffic can reach around 100-105 thousand people per day.

The spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service also emphasized that Ukrainian border guards apprehend dozens of evaders daily who attempt to illegally leave the country. Most of these incidents are recorded outside the checkpoints in the green zone. However, Demchenko noted that since August, the number of such cases has been decreasing, partly due to the weather. He added that over 40 fatalities have been recorded when Ukrainians attempted to cross the border in mountainous areas or via rivers.
