Night attack by Russia: air defense forces successfully repelled Shahed drone attacks in four regions.

Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using Shaheds on the night of Thursday, December 26. In total, the enemy deployed 31 strike drones. The air defense system destroyed 20 of them, while the rest were lost in various locations.

This information was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was noted that from 7:00 PM on December 25 and throughout the night of December 26, the enemy attacked with 31 Shaheds and drones of other types. The launch areas included Orel and Millerovo.

The air assault was countered by anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. As of 8:30 AM, the destruction of 20 strike drones and drones of other types has been confirmed in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

"Due to the active resistance of the Defense Forces, 11 enemy imitation drones were lost in various locations (without negative consequences)," the report states.

Attack on December 25, 2024

Russia carried out a new massive attack on Ukraine in the morning of December 25. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko emphasized that the energy system of Ukraine was under attack from Russia. Specifically, Russia targeted DTEK thermal power plants. As a result, equipment was seriously damaged.

Overall, on December 25, Russia launched 78 missiles and 106 Shaheds at Ukraine. In total, the air defense shot down 113 aerial targets, including 59 missiles and 54 strike drones.
