On the afternoon of March 1, Odesa is recovering from a massive drone attack by Russia that occurred on the evening of February 28. The Odesa region was targeted by the drones. As a result of the attack, one person has died and three others have been injured. The city has suffered damage to a residential building and a private business, as well as a sports facility, with both passenger and cargo vehicles belonging to residents destroyed.

More details about the war crime committed by Russia in Odessa were provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General. Investigators have opened a criminal case regarding the crimes that led to civilian casualties under part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The prosecutor stated that a 41-year-old man was killed due to the drone attack, the type of which is still being determined. Three other individuals sustained injuries. In Odessa, a residential building, a private enterprise, and a sports facility have been damaged. Additionally, vehicles belonging to local residents have been severely damaged. On the night of February 19, 2025, Russian occupiers once again launched a massive attack on Odessa and the Odessa region using strike drones. As a result of the attack, four individuals were injured, including a child. All were taken to the hospital in moderately serious condition. The strike targeted the city’s energy infrastructure. Other civilian infrastructure was also damaged, including a children's clinic, where the facade, interior finishes, and windows were broken.

Beginning in the evening of February 18 and continuing through the night of February 19, Russian occupiers conducted a massive attack on Odessa. Due to the hostile drone attack, over five hundred homes in one area of the city lost electricity and heating.
