Ukraine will soon initiate negotiations with the USA regarding the supply of weapons capable of intercepting intercontinental missiles. According to sources in the Defense Forces, the government will reach out to partners, particularly the American side, requesting relevant strike capabilities to enhance air defense. This likely involves upgrades to the "Patriot" missile system or a new Aegis system.
The long-awaited NASAMS air defense system has arrived in Ukraine. Canada ordered it from the USA back in January 2023. Nearly $406 million was allocated for the air defense purchase.
In the same month, Ukraine received another Patriot missile system from Germany. This marks the third system provided by Germany. It will significantly bolster the country's air defense, protecting the population and infrastructure from enemy aircraft, drones, and missiles. Germany is exploring the possibility of donating another battery of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine, which would be the fourth battery.
