North Korean soldiers engaged in combat with Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. This likely occurred during an attempt to "test" the defense line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in that area. However, as a result, a significant number of South Korean military personnel lost their lives.

This is reported by The New York Times. It is noted that the clash in the Kursk region involving North Korean soldiers was limited and not extensive.

The information about the confrontation between Ukrainian and North Korean troops was confirmed to the American press by a senior U.S. official and a Ukrainian official on the condition of anonymity. The Ukrainian official told NYT that the confrontation likely aimed to assess the Ukrainian line for weaknesses.

The Ukrainian official added that the KPA soldiers fought alongside the Russian 810th Separate Marine Brigade. However, it is not specified when exactly this battle took place. The U.S. official informed the American newspaper that a significant number of North Korean troops were killed as a result of this clash.

North Korean Military in the War in Ukraine

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there are already 11,000 North Korean soldiers present in the Kursk region. Additionally, attention is being paid to the Donetsk front. Among these North Korean military personnel are 500 officers, including 3 generals.

North Korean soldiers will utilize Russian equipment and ammunition, as well as Russian uniforms. It is known that North Korean soldiers are already fighting in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. On November 4, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Information Resistance Center at the National Security and Defense Council, reported that they came under their first shelling.

The publication BILD, citing intelligence data, previously reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent an elite unit of North Korean soldiers to Russia, referred to as "combat slaves." They were prepared to eliminate the "devils of NATO" and other "enemies of the leader." They are believed to be incredibly brutal.
