In the Bilohorivka area of the Luhansk region, Russian troops made new attempts to breach the Ukrainian defense. According to "Aidar" fighter Stanislav Bunyatov, the defenders halted an enemy tank and BMP. Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are eliminating the enemy infantry.
A serviceman with the call sign "Osman" shared on his Telegram channel that Russian occupiers are seeking to alter the situation on a stable section of the front.
"To the northwest of Bilohorivka, the enemy is attempting to shift our defensive line," the fighter wrote.
He specified that on November 29, Russian forces advanced towards Serebryanka on a tank and four BMPs, deploying infantry. The response from the AFU was immediate:
"One tank and one BMP were halted, while the rest of the equipment retreated. Currently, our fighters are working on eliminating the deployed enemy infantry," "Osman" recounted about the battle.
Earlier, the military commander of artillery for the 81st Separate Air Assault Brigade, Maksym Antonov, reported that Russian troops are trying to capture Bilohorivka. However, due to a lack of knowledge of the terrain, their tactical assaults remain limited and ineffective.
Ukrainian forces occupied the village of Bilohorivka, part of the Lysychansk city community in Luhansk region, in September 2022. The village is located on the right bank of the Siverskyi Donets River and holds strategic importance. In May 2022, it became the site of one of the Russian army's largest defeats. At that time, the occupiers repeatedly attempted to cross the Siverskyi Donets, but Ukrainian forces destroyed numerous crossings, armored vehicles, and enemy personnel. Bilohorivka has been dubbed "the second Chornobaivka."
After the occupation of Bilohorivka in July 2022, Russian occupiers used it as a stronghold for further operations in Luhansk. The liberation of the village was a significant step for the AFU, strengthening Ukraine's positions in the east and increasing pressure on the enemy in the region.
It is worth noting that Russian occupiers continue their offensive in the Donetsk region on November 29. The enemy is pushing forward near Kurakhove. Additionally, Russians are advancing in several other settlements in the Pokrovsk direction.
