The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, stated that the latest missile strike on Ukraine demonstrates the Kremlin's unwillingness to even discuss proposals for a "Christmas truce." Moreover, during the attack, a Russian missile flew through the airspace of EU countries. This once again reminded the world of the threat posed by Russian aggression to the entire region.

According to Sybiha, the Christmas terror is Putin's response to those living in the illusion of a possible ceasefire. The diplomat shared this on X (formerly Twitter).

"Another massive strike by Russia on Ukraine's energy system. This Christmas terror is Putin's answer to those who spoke of the illusory 'Christmas ceasefire'," emphasized Sybiha.

It is worth noting that the proposals for a "Christmas truce" were previously voiced by Hungary, but Ukraine has clearly stated that such ideas lack a real basis and are merely a PR initiative from the Hungarian side.

Sybiha also pointed to the international dimension of the threat: "One Russian missile passed through the airspace of Moldova and Romania, reminding us that Russia threatens not only Ukraine." Currently, official Bucharest has not confirmed the information about the missile flying over Romanian territory. However, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, stated that the Russian missile indeed violated Moldovan airspace on the night of Wednesday, December 25. She posted this on X (Twitter).

"While our countries celebrate Christmas, the Kremlin chooses destruction - targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure and violating Moldovan airspace with a missile, actions that clearly breach international law. Moldova condemns these actions and fully stands in solidarity with Ukraine," added Sandu.
