The U.S. Special Representative Keith Kellogg responded to the massive missile strike by Russia on Ukraine during Christmas. Kellogg emphasized that Christmas should be a time of peace, yet Ukraine found itself under attack once again. In light of this, the U.S. is more determined than ever to establish peace.

"Conducting massive missile and drone attacks on the day of the Lord's birth is wrong," he wrote on X.

He added that the world is closely watching the actions of both sides, and the U.S. is more committed than ever to ensuring peace in the region.

Missile Attack on Christmas

On December 25, Russia once again launched missiles at Ukrainian critical infrastructure: Russian forces conducted a massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector. As a result, "Ukrenergo" implemented emergency power outages. Specifically, the invaders struck at DTEK's thermal power plants. The Russian attack caused significant damage to energy equipment.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the combined massive attack that Russia carried out on Christmas. He stressed that each Russian massive strike requires preparation time and is never a spontaneous decision. According to him, the attack on December 25 was a deliberate choice not only of targets but also of time and date.

During the massive attack on December 25, Ukrainian air defense shot down 59 missiles, with only 42 of them intercepted over Dnipropetrovsk region. This accounted for the majority of aerial targets directed at the area. Infrastructure damage has been reported in the region, particularly in Dnipro.
