The Czech Republic has raised funds for a helicopter for Ukraine. A total of €2.8 million has been donated for the Black Hawk (“Black Hawk”) helicopter.
This information was reported by the "Darek pro Putina" ("Gift for Putin") initiative page on X (Twitter). Volunteers emphasize that the Czech Republic has become the first country in history to organize a fundraising campaign to purchase a military helicopter for Ukraine. The fundraising for the acquisition of the Black Hawk helicopter for the Ukrainian army began in November 2023.
"We are pleased to announce to the world that the citizens of the Czech Republic have united in a public fundraising campaign to acquire a Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter. A total of €2,800,000 has been raised,” stated the volunteers who organized the initiative. The funds collected not only enabled the purchase of the necessary helicopter but also covered the transportation of the Black Hawk UH-60 to Ukraine.
The UH-60 Black Hawk is an American twin-engine multi-role helicopter that was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1979. The helicopter is known for its high maneuverability, reliability, and ability to operate in challenging conditions. The latest modification, the UH-60M, is the most modern version and can be equipped with AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles, as well as machine guns and 30mm cannons for various combat missions.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received approximately €400 billion in aid from partner countries. When measuring the amount of assistance per citizen, it turns out that Denmark has provided the most aid. The USA ranks second to last.
