The military periodically stole goods from Epicenter and pawned them. He caused the hypermarket losses totaling 16,055 hryvnias. This information is detailed in the verdict of the Babushkinsky District Court of Dnipro (the legal name of the court), published on March 20, 2024.
On January 22, 2024, the man took a Yato YT-82848 charger for batteries, a "Yato 18" battery, and other goods worth a total of 2,649 hryvnias from the Epicenter hypermarket. He then fled the scene of the crime, disposing of the stolen items at his discretion. On the same day, he also took a Felisatti screwdriver worth 5,059 hryvnias from Epicenter.
On January 23, 2024, the man stole a Felisatti cordless screwdriver, OPPO headphones, and a bottle of low-alcohol beverage Shake from the Epicenter hypermarket, totaling 8,347 hryvnias. He attempted to leave the scene of the crime but was apprehended by store employees.
The man fully admitted his guilt. He pawned the stolen items and spent the money on personal needs.
The court found the man guilty of committing criminal offenses under Part 4 of Article 185, Part 2 of Article 15, and Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed the following penalties: for Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, based on Article 69 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months; for Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a prison sentence of 5 years. Based on Part 1 of Article 70 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, considering the totality of crimes, by absorbing the less severe punishment into the more severe one, he was ultimately sentenced to 5 years in prison. Under Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the citizen was released from serving the main sentence on probation, provided he does not commit a new crime during the 2-year probation period, and was obligated, according to paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Article 76 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, to notify the authorized probation authority of any changes in residence, work, and study, and to periodically appear for registration at the authorized probation authority.
