National Security Advisor Mike Waltz shared firsthand about the moment he conveyed to the "still opposing" President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky that it was time to leave the White House. This occurred after a historically tense meeting in the Oval Office with U.S. President Donald Trump. According to him, the Ukrainian president was unaware of what had transpired, unlike his advisors and ambassador.

As reported by CNN, both parties went to separate rooms after the press left, and Waltz stated during a Saturday interview with Fox News that he, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other high-ranking officials almost unanimously advised the president—after this insult in the Oval Office, "we just don’t see how this can move forward, and that any further interaction would only push everything back from this moment."

According to CNN, after this, Waltz was sent to deliver the message that Zelensky was no longer a welcome guest.

When asked by Fox News whether Zelensky was aware of what had happened, Waltz replied: "No, he was not aware. Frankly, his team was—yes. His ambassador and his advisor were practically—I mean, they were practically in tears, wishing for this to continue. But Zelensky was still arguing."

Waltz said he informed Zelensky: "Time is not on your side. Time is not on your side on the battlefield. Time is not on your side in terms of the global situation, and most importantly, U.S. aid and taxpayer patience are not limitless."

He added that Zelensky "did not understand that there is a new sheriff in town (the U.S. president - ed.). It’s a new president, and we are determined to take a new approach to achieving peace."

Later, in an interview with "Breitbart News Saturday" on Sirius XM, Waltz compared the Ukrainian leader to an "ex-girlfriend" who wants to argue about the past instead of moving forward.

"He is clearly focused solely on what he feels is necessary to fact-check and correct every detail," said Waltz. "It’s like, you know, an ex-girlfriend who wants to argue about everything you said nine years ago instead of moving the relationship forward."

Trump and Vice President Jay D. Vance criticized Zelensky during the meeting for allegedly lacking gratitude, while the Ukrainian leader refuted several claims, leading to an increasingly tense conversation. Here’s how the diplomatic breakdown unfolded.
