An incident occurred in Poltava involving a local businessman and his friends against a young man. The latter intervened to defend a girl who was being harassed by a drunken group. However, they did not appreciate his gesture and beat him up. He was hospitalized with a concussion, a broken nose, and injured kidneys. The police have initiated a criminal investigation.

The publication "Poltavshchyna" reported on the incident. It was noted that the attacker was the owner of the "Alpha-Capital" group of companies, Oleksandr Pavliuchenko. He assaulted the young man along with his friends, one of whom was Oleksandr Pereli, the deputy head of the Kyiv District Police Department. They kicked and punched him, inflicting serious bodily harm.

The publication explained that the men were relaxing at the "Shade" restaurant, where they began to harass a girl named Olena. Initially, they loudly discussed her, and then Pereli approached her and demanded that she leave with them. She refused and emphasized that she had a boyfriend. This did not sit well with the businessman, who began to behave aggressively, grabbing her by the arms.

Olena's boyfriend came to her aid, but he was seized by the drunken group of men and beaten right in the establishment. The restaurant management did not respond to the conflict. The representatives of the security firm "Yavir-2000" also behaved passively. According to Olena, they merely watched the beating and did not attempt to stop the attackers.

Consequences of the Beating and Police Reaction

The young man who fell victim to the attack was taken to the first city hospital. He has a broken nose, a concussion, and blood in his kidneys. According to Olena, the restaurant staff refused to call an ambulance or the police. Moreover, they did not provide video footage from the surveillance cameras. Later, the owner of "Shade," Marianna Soliman, stated that she acted this way due to threats.

In connection with this incident, the investigative department of the Poltava District Police has initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 125 (Intentional Bodily Harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case has been forwarded to the State Bureau of Investigations for pre-trial investigation. Additionally, the regional police leadership has initiated an internal investigation since one of the participants in the fight was a law enforcement officer.

Attacks on People in Ukraine

Both men and women exhibit aggression. There are also incidents involving children, which can be just as brutal as those involving adults. For instance, in Lviv, girls aged 16 and 17 initially forced a 9-year-old boy to apologize, and then beat him up on a playground. They recorded all the abuse on video, which they later posted online. A criminal case has been opened regarding this incident. The girls face fines of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes or community service for up to two hundred hours, or corrective labor for up to one year.

In August, in the Samarskyi district of Dnipro, a neighbor attacked a 25-year-old activist, the wife of an injured serviceman. There are two versions of the event: one from the victim and the other from the wife of the man suspected of the attack. The police are investigating both accounts. In Kolomyia, two young men aged 25 and 27 beat their 50-year-old acquaintance, and the man died from his injuries. They were arrested by the police. The young men face up to 10 years in prison.

Another incident occurred in Pavlohrad. During a leisure time, a quarrel broke out between neighbors. One of the men grabbed a hammer and struck the guest on the head three times with the tool. The victim was taken to a medical facility after the incident, while the attacker was arrested.
