The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the city of Lhgov in the Kursk region of Russia on Wednesday, December 25. The target was the command post of the 810th Brigade of the Russian Navy. Reports from Russia indicate that local residents were killed and injured, along with destruction caused by the blast wave.
Initially, the attack was reported by Russian Telegram channels, and later confirmed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Strategic Command. According to Ukrainian officers, the strike occurred on the night of December 25 against the command post of the 810th Brigade of the Russian Navy, which was located in an abandoned civilian building in Lhgov.
"This fire strike is part of a comprehensive campaign to weaken the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to coordinate military operations against the people of Ukraine," the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated.
The specifics of how the strike was delivered have not been clarified by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A Telegram channel close to Russian security forces, Mash, reports that Ukrainian troops used HIMARS multiple rocket launchers for the attack. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims that three drones were allegedly shot down by Russia's air defense over the Kursk region.
The local governor claims that as a result of the attack, four Russians were killed and five others were injured. He also asserts that buildings in the city were allegedly damaged by the blast wave, with at least 12 vehicles affected and a minor section of the gas pipeline destroyed.

During a massive missile attack on Ukraine on December 25, a powerful explosion occurred at the "Alania Mall" shopping center in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz. One person died, and another was hospitalized in critical condition.
Preliminarily, local authorities attributed the explosion to a gas leak in a restaurant located on the third floor of the shopping center. This was corroborated by witnesses who told reporters they smelled gas before the explosion. However, later official sources denied the domestic cause of the explosion.
The head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, instead stated that the explosion in the shopping center was caused by debris from a downed drone. He claims that air defense shot down the drone at 8:28 AM. The version regarding the drone is supposedly supported by "preliminary results of investigative actions." Menyaylo added that "the surveillance cameras at the shopping center show that the explosion occurred from the outside."
