The team of the British-Ukrainian company Spacebit, led by its founder and tech entrepreneur Pavlo Tanasyuk, has launched a rocket into space bearing the Ukrainian flag, which is set to land on the Moon on February 23. The Ukrainian initiated this idea in collaboration with representatives from NASA and the American space technology manufacturer Astrobotic. The launch of this unique rocket was announced by Ukrainian singer and songwriter Yulia Sanina on her Instagram page on February 10.
It is noteworthy that Sanina is involved in the event as she was invited to a ceremonial evening dedicated to the rocket launch. This event took place at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where the Ukrainian singer had the opportunity to perform in front of project participants and other distinguished guests.
"On January 8, Pavlo and his team, along with NASA and Astrobotic, launched the rocket, which is scheduled to land on the Moon on February 23," the announcement states.
It is known that the rocket, which Pavlo Tanasyuk and his colleagues launched to the Moon, is unique because it is the first such development created without the involvement of any Russian technologies. It is symbolic that this rocket carries the Ukrainian flag, which will soon be on the Moon.
In addition to the flag plate, a map of Ukraine will also be placed there, the performer reported.
"From now on, every Ukrainian looking at the Moon will know that a piece of our home is there," writes Yulia Sanina.
It is important to note that Spacebit is a private British-Ukrainian company specializing in space robotics technologies used for lunar and planetary missions. It was founded in 2014 by Ukrainian entrepreneur Pavlo Tanasyuk, with offices located in Ukraine, the UK, the USA, Luxembourg, and Japan.
Earlier, it was also revealed that in reality, only a few lucky individuals have been to the Moon. Reports indicate that between 1969 and 1972, only a handful of male NASA astronauts managed to walk on Earth's satellite.
