Starting today, Wednesday, November 20, a cold atmospheric front from Europe will move into the western regions of Ukraine. This was reported by candidate of geographical sciences and meteorologist Igor Kibalchich, as noted by the "Telegraph" website.
On Thursday, November 21, the weather will deteriorate in other parts of the country, the meteorologist warned. According to him, there will be rain, with some areas experiencing wet snow, and winds from the south will strengthen to 15-20 m/s, reaching 21-24 m/s in some places in the Left Bank.
During the day, a brief warming is expected, with temperatures rising to +11...+16 °C in the southern, central, and eastern regions. Meanwhile, in the western and northern areas, temperatures will barely exceed 0 °C.
Unstable weather associated with another active atmospheric front coming from the Carpathians will persist on November 22-23. Under its influence, moderate to heavy precipitation in the form of rain and snow will occur across Ukraine. Heavy snowfall and blizzards are anticipated in the Carpathians.
In the western and northern regions, a cooling trend will continue, with nighttime temperatures dropping to -3...-9 °C and daytime temperatures ranging from -2...+4 °C. It will be warmer in the southern and eastern regions, where nighttime temperatures are forecasted to be +1...+6 °C, and daytime temperatures will reach +3...+10 °C. On November 23, temperatures there are expected to rise to +12...+16 °C.
However, starting November 25, temperatures in the Left Bank will drop to -1...-6 °C at night and -1...+4 °C during the day.
Overall, the last week of the month is expected to be abnormally cold, especially in the western and northern regions, the meteorologist noted, adding that from November 23 to November 27, there will be no precipitation observed in Ukraine. However, in the last days of the month, Igor Kibalchich explained, atmospheric pressure will decrease, consequently increasing the likelihood of wet snow or rain.
It is worth mentioning that meteorologist Natalia Ptukhа previously indicated that the weather in Ukraine will change on November 20. In particular, snow is expected to accumulate to a height of up to 15 cm, and in the Carpathians—up to 50 cm.
Earlier, meteorologist Natalia Didenko discussed when heavy snowfall would arrive in the country. She noted that the beginning of the week would still be relatively warm, but afterward, the weather in Ukraine could change.
