On Tuesday, January 7, temperature records were set in eleven cities across Ukraine. The daytime highs in some regions surpassed their historical record values for this date. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Interestingly, western Ukraine emerged as the leader in high temperatures this time, although it was quite warm in the south as well.
The most impressive temperature record was established in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the air warmed up to +13.9°C.
Lviv also broke its long-standing record, with the thermometer rising to +11.7°C, exceeding the previous maximum of 1994 (+10.1°C).
The Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas noted that anomalous warmth for this time was recorded in Odessa as well — +11.1°C. The previous extreme value of +10.7°C was recorded 37 years ago in January 1988.
