The September increase in excise tax on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has already led to price hikes of 35-37 UAH/liter, but experts warn that prices could rise to 40 UAH as early as next year. This is reported by the publication mAUTO.
Journalists note that by the end of November, the average price for this type of fuel had already exceeded 35 UAH per liter. However, some gas stations are already asking for 37 UAH for a liter.
"Moreover, this is not the end. Starting January 1, 2025, the excise tax on autogas will increase again, leading to further price increases — the cost per liter could reach 40 UAH. Experts warn that this situation may significantly alter the fuel habits of Ukrainians, as the economic advantage of using gas has already decreased considerably," the media reports.
Journalists are convinced that drivers will need to consider returning to gasoline or diesel fuel due to the rising prices of autogas, which was previously a cheap and accessible alternative. Additionally, the price increase this autumn has already resulted in a decline in demand for this fuel among motorists.
According to experts, at the beginning of 2025, the rise in autogas prices could "become a critical point for owners of vehicles with gas cylinder equipment, forcing motorists to seek alternatives."
We also reported that fuel prices in Ukraine will rise significantly. The excise tax on autogas will increase more than on gasoline and diesel, as creating large reserves of it poses challenges.
