A man stole items from the Epicenter. His actions caused the hypermarket losses totaling 6,222 hryvnias. This information is stated in the decision of the Ship District Court of Mykolaiv, published on November 6, 2024.

On June 7, 2024, the man secretly took a pair of black work pants "YATO," size "M," valued at 1,549 hryvnias, from the shopping center "Epicenter K." He fled the scene with the stolen property and disposed of it at his discretion. On the same day, the citizen again stole a jacket, ankle boots, and a flashlight from Epicenter, causing material damage to the victim, LLC "Epicenter K," totaling 4,673 hryvnias.

What punishment did the court impose?

The court found the man guilty under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (for the theft of property from LLC "Epicenter K" amounting to 4,673 hryvnias on June 7, 2024) and sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment. Based on Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was released from the imposed punishment with probation, establishing a probation period of 1 (one) year. In accordance with Article 76 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the accused was obligated to periodically appear for registration at the authorized probation authority and to inform the authorized probation authority of any changes in his place of residence, work, or study.
