The Russian Federation army has managed to fully occupy Kurakhove. The city has come under Russian control. The enemy is also breaking through near three other settlements: Andriivka, Solone, and Novosilka.
Reports from the DeepState public on January 11 indicate that the Russians have completely seized Kurakhove. Analysts published a map marking the city in red.
The occupiers are also advancing near a number of settlements, specifically Solone, Andriivka, and Novosilka.
Meanwhile, as of the evening of January 10, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported intense fighting in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy attempted to breach the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 61 times. Battles were taking place near Novopoltavka, Tarasivka, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Novohrud, Zviriv, Udachny, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Novovasyliivka, Novohrihorivka, Novoyelyzavetivka, Andriivka, Kurakhove, Dachne, and Yantarny.
Ukrainian forces are holding defense at the Kurakhivska TPP, despite fierce battles in this area, as reported by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia military grouping, during a national television broadcast on January 10.
"Currently, the Russians are trying to advance in the area of Dachne and push Ukrainian forces out of Kurakhove. Ukrainian forces are holding the TPP and inflicting all possible damage on the enemy," Trehubov stated at that time.
Over the past few months, Kurakhove has become one of the centers of the Russian offensive in the Donetsk region, turning the city into one of the hottest spots on the front line.
On January 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its troops had completely captured Kurakhove. Ukraine did not confirm this statement at that time.
On January 7, a military representative stated that Ukrainian forces continued to hold positions on the western outskirts of Kurakhove and at the power station, but the situation in the city is "difficult."
The city is located 20 kilometers north of the Russian-occupied Vuhledar and 30 kilometers south of the key frontline city of Pokrovsk.
