The Security Service of Ukraine apprehended a man in Mykolaiv who was working for Russian intelligence. A former lecturer at a local university, he assisted in coordinating missile and drone attacks on the city. This was reported by the SBU press service on Friday, November 29.

According to the investigation, the man set up an "observation post" right in the attic of the residential building where he lived. He concealed a camera there, which he used to monitor the locations of Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems and mobile fire groups. His goal was to aid Russian forces in circumventing air defense systems.

The camera also enabled him to record the movement of Ukrainian equipment toward the front lines. He relayed all the information through a "messenger" who was located in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

During searches, authorities found a phone, a camera, and storage devices containing evidence of his activities. The investigation revealed that this individual had caught the attention of the FSB due to anti-Ukrainian comments in Russian Telegram channels, where he was recruited remotely.

SBU investigators have informed the detainee of charges of treason committed during martial law (part 2, article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment and confiscation of property.

Recall that on November 27, the SBU announced the detention of five individuals who exploded an explosive device near the district police department in Zhytomyr. According to the investigation, these men acted on the orders of Russian intelligence.

On November 15, law enforcement apprehended a "mole" from the Russian GRU. It turned out to be the commander of one of the Special Operations Forces units, who was transmitting plans of defense operations to the occupiers behind enemy lines.
