The Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, heard a prophecy about war in Ukraine 25 years ago. This is mentioned in his book "My War," which is cited by the publication Telegraf.
In the book, the former chief recalls a time long ago when he was traveling by train with friends from Odessa to Zhytomyr to get home to Novograd-Volynsk (now Zviahel). Two women sat down next to them, and one of them, who appeared to be around 30-40 years old, suggested that his friends have their fortunes told using cards.
"For some reason, this idea terrified me. I felt a chill run down my sweaty back. No, I didn't want to know what would happen," Zaluzhny remembers.
According to him, he doesn’t particularly believe in predictions and was also skeptical at that time, wanting to decline. However, the woman approached him, looked at him for a moment, and refused to share what she had seen.
"No. I can't say anything more. No! I'm sorry," she said.
When Zaluzhny asked why she refused, the woman explained: "I saw a war. A terrible one. Here with us. And you are the most important there."
Valeriy Zaluzhny noted that he replayed the fortune teller's words in his mind for a long time and recalled the prophecy at the end of February 2022. He understood that a big and difficult struggle for survival lay ahead, which should end in a Ukrainian victory.
"Otherwise — death," he emphasized.
Recall that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces from 2021 to 2024, Valeriy Zaluzhny wrote and published a book titled "My War." This is the first volume of a trilogy that the retired general began working on back in March 2023.
