Since February 2022, the Russian regime has spent no less than 18 billion US dollars on missile and drone attacks against Ukraine. At the new exchange rate of the ruble, this amounts to 1.8 trillion rubles. This money could have been used by the Kremlin to benefit its own people, but instead, it chose to attempt to destroy Ukraine.
The Center for Counteracting Disinformation reported this. It is noted that over 18 billion dollars, according to the most conservative estimates, were spent on missiles and drones that occupiers used to shell Ukrainian cities and energy facilities.
"This money could have been directed towards regional development, construction of schools, hospitals, and infrastructure," the CCD emphasizes.
Such expenses can be compared to the budget of Saint Petersburg, which is projected to be 1.3 trillion rubles in 2024. The Sverdlovsk region of Russia, one of the depressed areas, would spend 1.8 trillion rubles over four years—equivalent to four annual budgets of the region. Additionally, there are many other depressed regions in Russia where this money could have significantly improved the living conditions of citizens for many years.
On November 17, the Russians attacked several regions of our country. Explosions were reported in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Lviv, Poltava, and even in Prykarpattia. In several regions, there were casualties and injuries.
A massive missile attack lasted for 2 hours, while the drone attack continued for over 10 hours. Russia deployed 120 missiles and 90 drones, with air defense managing to shoot down over 140 targets, as noted by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This includes 102 missiles and 42 drones. Among them were one Zircon missile, seven Kinzhal ballistic missiles, 85 Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles, and four Kh-22 or Kh-31P missiles; five guided aviation missiles Kh-59/69.
On November 21, the Russians carried out another missile attack on Ukraine. During the night, six Tu-95MS bombers were in the air, which launched Kh-101 cruise missiles. Earlier that morning, the enemy shelled Dnipro with ballistic missiles, and explosions were heard in the city.
