A deferment from mobilization in Ukraine does not need to be renewed every three months. Details were shared by lawyers Yuri Aivazyan and Vladislav Deriy.
Kiev resident Oleg inquired whether he is required to submit documents every three months to renew his deferment and whether it remains valid if he does not. The lawyers clarified that the deferment should remain valid for the period established for it.
"If it was granted for one year, they cannot revoke it, as the law does not have retroactive effect," emphasized Deriy.
You only need to submit your documents for renewal every three months if such a condition was specified in the decision of the TCK.
The deferment is valid if:
You can also verify the validity of the deferment by visiting your TCK.
Oleg noted that in April 2024, he received a form confirming the fact of providing care for traveling abroad. The Medical Advisory Commission (MAC) confirmed that his mother requires constant outside care.
The lawyers explained that the validity period of such a act is not specified by law. It remains valid until it is used for traveling, unless another period is indicated in the document.
"In general, it should remain valid as long as the MAC certificate is valid. You can only travel abroad with your mother," emphasized Deriy.
Following a large-scale cyberattack by the Russian Federation, the function for processing deferments for large families in Ukraine through "Reserve+" was restored. This became possible due to the restoration of the State Register of Civil Status Acts.
