On January 5th, the most clashes occurred in the Kharkiv region, according to figures released by the General Staff.

On January 5, the Kursk direction, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an offensive, became the hottest spot. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 42 combat encounters in the Kursk region, 12 of which are still ongoing. Overall, there have been 114 combat engagements at the front since the day began.

The Kursk direction, where The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an offensive, became the hottest spot on January 5. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 42 combat encounters in the Kursk region, 12 of which are still ongoing. In total, there have been 114 combat encounters on the front since the start of the day.

This information is stated in the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that, in addition to the Kursk direction, hostilities are actively taking place in several other sections of the front.

  • Kupyansk direction: two attacks by Russian occupiers near Zahryzove:
  • Lyman direction: six attacks near Nadiya, Tverdokhlibove, Zarichne, Novosergiyivka, and Pershotravneve, with four assaults still ongoing.
  • Seversk direction: one enemy assault.
  • Kramatorsk direction: two attacks repelled, one is currently being repelled.
  • Toretsk direction: three attacks in the area of Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Krymske have been repelled, with two more currently being repelled.
  • Pokrovsk direction has become the second most active after Kursk: the enemy made 36 attempts to attack in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Vozdvizhenska, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Solone, Novovasyliivka, Novoelyzavetivka, and Yasenove. 15 attacks were repelled, and 16 are being repelled at the moment.
  • Kurakhiv direction: 18 enemy attacks have been repelled near Slovyanka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne, with an indefinite number of confrontations ongoing.
  • Vremivka direction: six enemy attacks have been repelled near the settlements of Yantarny, Novyi Komar, and towards Konstantinovka.

Situation in Kursk Region

On the afternoon of January 2, Russian media began to report extensively about a significant strike in the Kursk region of the RF. The AFU struck a gathering of occupiers from the 810th separate brigade of the marine corps for the second time. This time the strike occurred in the village of Ivanivske, located in the Rylsk district. Preliminary reports indicate significant losses for the enemy.

On December 25, the AFU targeted the city of Lgov in the Kursk region of Russia. The command post of the 810th brigade of the Russian army's marine corps was hit. In Russia, there are reports of local residents killed and injured, as well as damage from the shockwave.
