The war taking place in Ukraine in 2024 exhibits all the characteristics of the Third World War. This is evidenced by the foreign weapons that Russia is employing against Ukrainians on the battlefield. To date, there are three countries that have joined the war alongside the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian ambassador to the UK and former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, discussed the onset of World War III during a video conference with the publication "Ukrainian Truth".
Zaluzhny listed the countries, besides Russia, that are fighting against Ukraine. For instance, North Korea supplies ammunition and missiles to the Russians, and its soldiers are killing Ukrainians on the battlefield. Additionally, kamikaze drones "Shahed," produced in Iran, are striking Ukrainian cities. Furthermore, the Russians possess shells manufactured in China and utilize Chinese electronic components for missile production, he stated.
"There is a classification for determining whether there is a war or not. I believe that in 2024, the Third World War began. Because in 2024, Ukraine is facing not just Russia," Zaluzhny emphasized.
The diplomat, who led the Ukrainian army from the first days of the Russian invasion in 2022 until January 2024, stated that global partners must realize: the Third World War is already underway, occurring on Ukrainian territory. He urged Western governments to "draw the right conclusions," as technology will assist Ukrainians, but it will not be enough for victory.
"It is still possible to stop this right here, on Ukrainian soil. But for some reason, our partners do not want to understand this. It is clear that Ukraine already has too many enemies. Ukraine will survive through technology, but it is uncertain whether it can independently win this battle," Zaluzhny concluded.
It is noteworthy that Ambassador Valeriy Zaluzhny made his statement regarding the Third World War during the award ceremony for the participants of the UP-100 rating of "Ukrainian Truth." The ceremony took place on November 20 in Kyiv, and the diplomat joined the celebrations online, as written on the "Tabloid. UP" portal. He was interviewed by two journalists, Roman Kravets and Roman Romaniuk, but a full recording of the official's speech is not yet available.
Meanwhile, the Merriam Webster dictionary provides an exact definition of what constitutes a world war.
"A world war is a war in which all or most of the major nations of the world participate," the dictionary states.
We remind you that on November 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved an updated nuclear doctrine: some details of the document allow Russians to strike non-nuclear Ukraine. Meanwhile, on November 21, there were reports that a medium-range ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads could have struck the Dnipro.
