People's Deputy Nikolai Tishchenko made his appearance in the Verkhovna Rada two days after the court failed to renew the measure of restraint — house arrest. Upon arriving at the parliament, the politician congratulated those present on the holidays and promised to pay more attention to aiding the military. Additionally, in a conversation with "European Solidarity" deputy Alexey Goncharenko, he stated that he would no longer fight against call centers. Tishchenko's statement was made during a stream that Goncharenko hosted on YouTube.

At 12:00 on January 8, Goncharenko began a live broadcast from the Verkhovna Rada and reported that he saw Nikolai Tishchenko in the parliament. During the discussion, the deputy, who is involved in a beating case, mentioned a change in his stance regarding call centers. According to Tishchenko, he had been fighting against such companies at the request of his constituents. He later took the time to reassess his position and changed his mind.

"You know, I have completely reconsidered. I had the opportunity to reassess, and I am turning the pages. I realized that this struggle is unnecessary for anyone. I was doing it at the request of my voters," he was heard saying in the video.

The footage from the parliamentary hall showed several deputies shaking hands with Tishchenko. After that, the politician congratulated Ukrainians on the New Year on camera and stated that he plans to continue working. He also explained what was happening in the state hospital, the footage of which appeared online. The politician did not disclose what health issues he faced but instead accused law enforcement of illegal filming, for which someone later compensated them.

"All the videos from the hospital were filmed by law enforcement and later posted for money. What the law enforcement did was very unprofessional. These are political insinuations," said the deputy.

Tishchenko — Case Details

It should be noted that the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest for Tishchenko ended on December 23, 2024. On January 6, a court hearing took place to decide on the further course of the case and, likely, an extension of the arrest. However, there was no decision made, as Tishchenko's lawyer requested the judge's recusal, wrote the publication "Suspilne".

Following the initiation of the criminal proceedings, the deputy was detained and placed under house arrest. Since then, he was not allowed to leave his home or participate in person in sessions of the Verkhovna Rada. Meanwhile, footage was published online showing him walking near his home, violating the terms of his house arrest.

We remind you that in December 2024, media outlets reported on Deputy Alexander Kunitsky, who is suspected of having fled Ukraine after a possible trip to Israel.
