On the night of Wednesday, November 27, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 89 Shahed drones. The air defense managed to shoot down 36 drones. Additionally, 48 drones were reportedly lost due to active electronic warfare, and 5 UAVs headed towards Belarus, Russia, and occupied territories.
This information was provided by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was noted that from 7:30 PM on November 26 and throughout the night of November 27, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with 89 Shahed-type strike drones and unmanned aerial vehicles of unspecified types. The launch areas were located in Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
To repel the attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, and mobile fire groups from the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved. As of 9:00 AM, the air defense had shot down 36 enemy drones in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Mykolaiv regions.
"48 UAVs were reportedly lost due to active electronic warfare by the Defense Forces, and 5 drones exited the controlled airspace towards Belarus, Russia, and temporarily occupied territories," the report states.
In the Kyiv region, debris from the downed drones caused an explosion wave that damaged the windows of 18 apartments and 3 office spaces in 3 high-rise buildings. Moreover, in two districts of the region, windows, doors, and roofs were damaged in 4 private houses, 4 outbuildings, and a garage. There are no casualties among the population. There were no hits on critical or residential infrastructure.
In Kyiv, drone debris fell in the Dnipro district. Preliminary information indicates damage to a non-residential infrastructure facility. Two injured individuals have been reported, with one being hospitalized in a medical facility in the capital.
In the sky over Sumy region on the night of November 27, air defense units destroyed 7 Shaheds. In Khmelnytskyi and Mykolaiv regions, air defense forces shot down one enemy drone each.
