During the upcoming Ramstein meeting scheduled for next week, the focus will be on enhancing Ukraine's air defense systems. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, there are partners who can assist Ukraine in improving its defense against missiles and guided bombs, as well as against Russian aviation.

In an evening video address to Ukrainians on January 4, President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the preparations for the Ramstein meeting, which will take place on Thursday, January 9. He mentioned that among the dozens of partner countries, there are those who can boost Ukraine's capabilities not only in missile defense but also against guided bombs and Russian aviation. He added that partners will be convinced that additional air defense systems are needed by Ukraine right now.

"We will discuss this with them and persuade them. Life requires protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must work for that. I want to thank all the partners who understand this and help us develop our air shield," he said.

Yesterday, January 3, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh announced that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will be present in Germany for the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. On December 9, Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov discussed the planning of this meeting. They also touched on the issue of international support and U.S. assistance.
