Almost the entire family perished: a grenade exploded in a house in Transcarpathia, details from the police (photos included).

A tragedy occurred in the Transcarpathian region due to a grenade explosion. Almost the entire family lost their lives. This information is reported in a statement from the local police.

According to the investigation, the incident took place late on the night of Friday, November 29. At 10:39 PM, a 14-year-old resident of the village of Maliy Berezny in the Uzhhorod district called the authorities.

"The teenager reported that he found his grandfather's body on the floor in the room and could not explain the situation more clearly. A response team from police station No. 2 of the Uzhhorod Police Department and the regional police department, as well as forensic laboratory inspectors, immediately arrived at the scene," the statement reads.

In the middle of the room, the bodies of three individuals were discovered — the 32-year-old mother of the boy who called the police, along with his 55-year-old grandmother and 70-year-old grandfather.

After conducting initial procedures, law enforcement officials determined that on that evening, the victims were consuming alcoholic beverages, and a resident of Transcarpathia suddenly picked up a grenade of unknown origin, pulled the pin, and then an explosion occurred.

"All three individuals who were in the room died. During the investigation of the crime scene, police discovered three more grenades hidden in the premises. They have been seized," the statement mentions.

In connection with this incident, investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Authorities are also determining the origin of the seized ammunition. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

It is worth noting that on November 26, it was reported that a "tripwire" was set up against a police patrol in Kyiv. An apartment was rented on a daily basis for a terrorist act in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. The bomber received instructions on how to create a "tripwire" with an F-1 grenade, which was intended to detonate at the right moment.
