A representative of the Territorial Recruitment Center was detained in Sumy region for threatening mobilization and demanding money.

In Sumy region, law enforcement officials exposed an employee of the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCSC) while she was accepting an illicit benefit. She has already been notified of her suspicion. Her actions have been classified under the article concerning bribery by a public official.

According to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Sumy Oblast, the woman offered a conscript a way to evade mobilization for a monetary reward of 3 thousand US dollars. Law enforcement documented the transfer of the specified amount and detained the perpetrator in accordance with legal requirements.

"The police uncovered the fact of bribery and informed the TCSC employee of the suspicion," the police statement reads.

Under the procedural guidance of the specialized prosecutor's office, the detainee has been charged under part 5 of article 27 and part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspicion pertains to the receipt of illicit benefits by a public official. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Other Scams in TCSC

It was previously reported that in Transcarpathia, employees of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine detained the head of the district TCSC and the deputy commander of one of the territorial defense brigades for similar corrupt actions.

We also reported how employees of the State Bureau of Investigations notified the deputy commander of one of the military brigades of suspicion. The cunning individual had been profiting from soldiers unwilling to serve for almost a year. He not only took half of their salaries but also ensured that the fighters occasionally received combat payments.

The State Bureau of Investigations also uncovered corruption schemes involving TCSC in Odesa region. It was about another scheme for profiting from mobilization and draft evasion. It turned out that an employee of the Malynivskyi district TCSC was unauthorizedly altering the data of conscripts in the "Oberih" system. For this service, he charged between 4 to 7 thousand dollars.
