Russian literature to be recycled: In Volhynia, books will be turned into toilet paper for the military.

Local volunteers have already collected approximately one ton of paper waste. Russian books can be submitted for recycling until the end of November.

In Kovel, Volyn region, volunteers from the local branch of the public organization UA Resistance Foundation are urging residents to dispose of Russian literature and donate books related to the aggressor country for recycling. The initiative was reported by misto.media.

The collected books are taken to a local paper mill, where they are transformed into toilet paper, which is then sent to the front lines. According to the company, one roll of paper can be produced from a book of average thickness.

So far, approximately one ton of recyclable paper has been collected. The campaign will continue until the end of November.

Volunteer Daria Panchenko explained that this initiative aims to motivate Ukrainians to abandon Russian literature and support the Ukrainian army.

"Therefore, we urge residents not only of Kovel but also of other cities to donate Russian books, and to contribute funds to support the military, sharing this on social media with the hashtag #росийскую_до_с**ки," Panchenko said.

Russian books can be dropped off at: Kovel, Independence Street, 94. Volunteers are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4 PM to 8 PM. For convenience, residents can arrange for the collection of literature in advance.

As a reminder, in Ivano-Frankivsk, a lecturer from the Department of Neurosurgery at the National Medical University was giving lectures to students in Russian.

In Kyiv, a conflict arose in one of the bookstores over the Russian language.
