"Russians presented demands that no one accepted," Gordon has postponed the timeline for his forecast.

Journalist Dmitry Gordon stated that the peace talks in Washington were disrupted, but they are inevitable. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump were scheduled to have a video call.
"Россияне выдвинули требования, с которыми никто не согласился": Гордон отложил сроки своего прогноза.

Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon stated that the active phase of the war in Ukraine would end on December 30, but his prediction did not come true. In an interview on January 1, he explained what went wrong and provided new timelines.

"Firstly, I am not a politician, I am a journalist. It is politicians who make promises, keep them or not; they have electoral pledges. I am a person living in a free country where there is freedom of speech, and where everyone can express their opinion and make various predictions," he noted.

Gordon emphasized that he had predicted the end of the active phase of the war by the end of 2024, and did not pull this information "out of thin air." He stated that he does not resemble a madman or someone who wishes to "ruin his reputation," condemning hype around such matters as foolishness.

"I knew very well that negotiations were taking place in Washington. I was well aware that a meeting was being prepared for the 30th between (Vladimir, — ed.) Putin and (Donald, — ed.) Trump. (...) But it did not happen because the Russians put forth demands that no one in the U.S. was willing to accept," the journalist explained.

According to him, the conversation was supposed to occur via video link, but ultimately the negotiations and meeting fell through. Gordon suggested that this issue would be revisited. He advised anyone wishing to take offense at him to first direct their anger towards Trump’s special representative, Keith Kellogg.

"I do not renounce my prediction. I made it with a clear mind and sound memory. I knew what I was saying and why I was saying it. Looking into the eyes of my audience, I want to reiterate — this prediction was based not merely on someone's imagination. This is an absolutely real matter (...) I understand that everything I spoke about will be postponed a bit — maybe by a month or two. It is inevitable because everything is heading in that direction," the journalist stated.

He added that the timeline would shift due to reasons beyond his control.

Gordon predicted elections in Ukraine

In an interview on December 27, Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon also stated that elections would be held after a peace agreement is reached.

"I believe that a peace treaty will be concluded sometime in the spring of 2025. And then — immediately elections: presidential, parliamentary, and local government," he noted.

The journalist reported that elections could be organized not in six or even three months, but in just two. He referred to sources in Ukraine and the West, including politicians and military personnel, as well as open sources and "analysis multiplied by intuition."

Recall that on December 30, journalist Dmitry Gordon stated that there was supposed to be a "historic summit". To those who criticized him, he advised to "hold their tongues."

Later that same day, Gordon reported that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. leader Donald Trump did not take place. He noted that he had received information about the planned negotiations from three sources — two American and one Ukrainian. The journalist revealed the demands of Russia and the U.S.
