Russian occupiers once again launched massive shelling on Zaporizhzhia on January 2. A total of 11 settlements in the region were under enemy fire, including Stepnohirsk. The Russians struck 361 times using drones, MLRS, guided aerial bombs, and heavy artillery. As a result of the attack, two people lost their lives, and significant destruction of residential buildings was reported.
The consequences of the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia were reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov. He noted that there was a deceased man in the Vasylivka district. Additionally, the Russians terrorized Stepnohirsk. The enemy attacked the settlement with guided aerial bombs 11 times. The occupiers destroyed a residential building, and the body of the second victim was retrieved from the rubble. Rescue operations lasted for five hours.
The enemy launched 221 strikes using various types of drones. Meanwhile, the Russians targeted Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohirya, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske.
The Russians shelled with MLRS 10 times. The enemy fired at Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Bilohirya, and Novodarivka.
The Russian army conducted 119 strikes using heavy artillery. The following locations were hit: Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohirya, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske.
According to Fedorov, as a result of the strikes, 11 reports from residents concerning the destruction of residential buildings were received. Infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
On December 30, the Russian army also relentlessly attacked the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy carried out 494 strikes using heavy artillery, drones, and multiple launch rocket systems. Nine settlements were under attack by the Russians, resulting in damaged houses and infrastructure facilities. Fortunately, there were no casualties at that time.
