On January 4, Russian occupiers actively advanced and stormed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kramatorsk direction in eastern Ukraine. The enemy attacked in Chasiv Yar and launched an assault in Toretsk. As a result of fierce battles, the Russians managed to destroy part of the positions held by Ukrainian troops. The AFU is doing everything possible to prevent the situation from deteriorating in this operational area.
Regarding the current status in the Kramatorsk direction, information was provided by the Joint Forces Operation "Khortytsia." The military confirmed the partial loss of positions.
It is noted that in the Kramatorsk direction, the Russians attacked the AFU positions in Chasiv Yar and towards Stupochky, while in the Toretsk direction, they stormed Ukrainian fortifications towards Shcherbynivka and in Toretsk.
"As a result of fire impact, some of our positions were destroyed. Measures are being taken to prevent the tactical situation from worsening," the report states.
The DeepState project reported that Russia continues to actively advance in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy has managed to capture three more settlements in the area of the strategically important city of Pokrovsk. These include Dachenke, Novyi Trud, and Vovkove. The occupiers are also making advances in several other villages in the same direction.
According to military journalist Bohdan Myroshnykov, on January 4, the Russian Federation's army fully captured Kurakhove in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk, where the AFU had previously lost part of their positions. The enemy has managed to establish a foothold near the power plant and controls all residential areas. Fierce fighting is ongoing only in the industrial zone. It is unknown how long the AFU will hold out there.
