On New Year's Eve, from December 31 to January 1, Russian occupiers struck the Zaporizhia region throughout the night and all day long. They launched 227 attacks on 12 settlements in the area using artillery, drones, and guided aerial bombs.
This information was shared by the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov. According to him, six airstrikes with guided bombs targeted Stepnogirsk on the night of January 1.
Fedorov claims that all the guided bombs fired at the regional center were intercepted, although he did not disclose how this was achieved.
In addition to guided bombs, 124 drones of various types attacked Zaporizhia, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohirya, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske.
The occupiers also shelled Shcherbaky and Novodanylivka with multiple rocket launchers seven times. The Russians targeted homes in Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohirya, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske with artillery 90 times.
In the evening of January 1, according to Fedorov and monitoring data, the Russians attempted once again to launch guided bombs at Zaporizhia. Explosions were also heard in Stepnogirsk.
This is not the first time Russia has attacked Zaporizhia. As a result of Russian drone attacks on the city during the night of November 25, a 13-year-old boy was injured. At that time, some drones targeted the regional center while others passed through and attacked other settlements in the region. In total, the occupiers launched 200 strikes with various weapons on cities and villages in Zaporizhia in just one day. On November 22, the Russians hit the warehouses of a private enterprise and a farming business.
