Russians have destroyed some positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Toretsk and Chasiv Yar. Here's the latest update on the situation in the east.

On January 2, Russia continues its active assault operations in eastern Ukraine. The enemy relentlessly attacks the positions of the Ukrainian military. The Russians have managed to destroy part of the Ukrainian positions near Chasiv Yar and Toretsk. The occupiers are advancing in the Kurakhove and Vremivka directions. Heavy fighting is also ongoing in the Pokrovsk direction. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the occupiers, preventing them from gaining momentum. Some of Russia's attacks have completely failed.

More details about the situation in eastern Ukraine were provided by the OSUV "Khortytsia." The military notes both active assaults and offensive attacks by the Russians across all eastern fronts.

Kupyansk Direction. The Russians have been storming near the settlements of Kolysnykivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, Lozova, and Nadiya.

Lyman Direction. The occupiers have conducted assaults on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the settlements of Kopanky, Terny, Zahryzove, and Makiivka. The enemy has had no success.

Kramatorsk and Toretsk Directions. The Russians have been attacking fortifications in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk and advancing in the areas of the settlements of Stupochky and Leonidivka. As a result of the Russian offensive, part of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been destroyed. The military is doing everything possible to hold back Russia and prevent the situation from deteriorating.

Pokrovsk Direction. The Russians, without armored vehicles, attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Vozdvizhivka, Lysivka, Novovasylivka, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Pishchane, Vovkove, and Solone. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the enemy's attacks, preventing the Russians from gaining ground.

Kurakhiv Direction. The Russians are actively storming in the urban area of Kurakhove and advancing in Yantarne. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the Russian Federation.

Vremivka Direction. The Russians are advancing near the settlements of Kostiantynivske, Novosilka, and Novyi Komar. While advancing on Rozliv, the enemy deployed armored vehicles. The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 2 enemy BMPs. The fighters halted the Russian attack - it failed.

Situation in Eastern Ukraine

On December 31, Russian occupiers attempted to bypass Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The enemy aims to encircle the city to disrupt logistics and seize it with fewer losses. The same situation is occurring in Kurakhove. Additionally, in Toretsk, the occupiers are using unusual tactics.

On December 28, Russia continued its offensive in eastern Ukraine: the enemy advanced near the settlements of Toretsk and Velyka Novosilka. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders repelled positions near Siversk. The enemy also attempted to break through in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv directions.
