The scenario of dividing Ukraine into three parts, as proposed by the Russian Federation, is currently unfeasible, whereas the division of the RF is quite plausible. This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the President's Office, in a comment to "RBK Ukraine".
"Will anyone buy into this scenario? I think not. Today, another scenario is possible — the division of Russia," Podolyak said.
He emphasized that the concept of destroying Ukraine is the fundamental scenario that the Russians aim to implement.
"This is what Russia has constantly contemplated — to divide Ukraine. This is one of the scenarios. It is fundamental and has not yet been realized; if Russia remains 'Putin's', they will try to resolve this one way or another," Podolyak noted.
The advisor to the head of the President's Office also explained that as an intermediate step, the Kremlin considers a temporary freezing of the conflict, but the ultimate goal is the destruction of Ukrainian statehood.
"What does freezing the conflict mean? He (Putin, — ed.) has decided that the second stage may end with additional territorial acquisitions, on these territories he will establish large fortifications, saturate these areas with a vast amount of weapons, modernize the economy, and begin the third stage. The logic here is clear," Podolyak emphasized.
It is worth recalling that on November 20, "Interfax-Ukraine" reported, citing its sources in intelligence, that the RF has prepared a plan for the division of Ukraine.
On the same day, Ukraine struck with Storm Shadow missiles for the first time in the Kursk region of the RF.
