The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, awarded Ukrainian defenders during his visit to the Kursk direction. He took numerous photos with the defenders during the ceremony and expressed gratitude for their resilience. According to the commander, they inflicted significant losses on the enemy in the Kursk region and diverted their reserves there.
In his Telegram channel, Oleksandr Syrskyi shared images from his trip to Kursk. The military awards ceremony took place there.
"The heroic actions of the Ukrainian military forced the enemy to maintain a considerable grouping of forces on their territory and transfer reserves from other directions," Syrskyi noted.
He added that, due to the resilience and bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, enemy losses in Kursk exceeded 38,000 personnel and over a thousand units of equipment.
He also recognized the contributions of the military in replenishing the exchange fund. He reminded that on December 30, another 189 Ukrainians returned from captivity. He stated that the fighters from the Kursk direction played a significant role in this, as during the operation in this area, the Ukrainian exchange fund was replenished by more than 700 invaders.
Just before the New Year, on December 25, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the city of Lgov in the Kursk region. A command point of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian Army, located in an abandoned civilian building in the city of Lgov, was hit.
