Спецпредставитель Трампа по мирным переговорам отменил поездку в Украину: подробности ситуации.

Lieutenant General Kit Kellogg, representative of the newly elected 47th President of the United States Donald Trump, has postponed his visit to Ukraine. This visit could have marked the first contact with the Ukrainian government regarding the resolution of the war. Discussions about the meeting began immediately after the elections on November 5, with suggestions that it might even take place before Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Events in the U.S. concerning the actions of the new American administration were reported by Reuters.

On the morning of January 7, the agency reported on changes in Trump’s administration policy. The information sources were unnamed individuals who wished to remain anonymous. They indicated that Kellogg's visit to Ukraine has been postponed. It was also noted that the visit has not been canceled, but it remains unclear when it will occur, as no dates have been provided.

Journalists from the agency sought comments from the special representative, as well as from the Ukrainian embassy in the U.S. No responses regarding the situation were received, the article concludes.

"It is unclear why Kellogg postponed the trip," Reuters wrote.

On Kellogg's X (Twitter) page, there are no mentions of the trip to Kyiv or its cancellation. His latest posts are about the new offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region and a snippet of an interview with President Volodymyr Zelensky, where he expressed confidence that Trump would achieve peace.

Ending the War — Kit Kellogg and the U.S. Position

Russian politicians and officials have released a series of statements in response to the U.S. proposal. Among other things, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov assured that the Kremlin's position on ending the war has not changed. According to Moscow's stance, Ukraine must agree to limit its sovereignty.

We remind you that on January 5, an interview with Zelensky was released, where the Ukrainian leader expressed himself candidly regarding the President of the Russian Federation during a discussion with American podcaster Lex Fridman.
