In the Cherkasy region, the alert system is being updated: here's how air raid sirens will be activated moving forward.

In the Cherkasy region, the air threat warning system regarding potential shelling from the Russian Federation is being revamped. Starting January 10, a pilot project will be implemented: in the event of a threat from Russian drones, the alarm will be activated only in the districts where the drones are directly detected. However, if there is a risk of a missile strike, the air raid alert will be issued for the entire region. These changes are being introduced to ensure the stable operation of businesses and organizations.
В Черкасской области изменяют систему оповещения: теперь сигнал воздушной тревоги будет включаться по-новому.

In the Cherkasy region, the system for alerting about aerial threats from Russian shelling is being updated. Starting January 10, a pilot project will be implemented in the area: in the event of a threat of Russian drone attacks, the alarm signal will be activated in districts where drones have been directly detected. If there is a threat of a missile strike, however, the air raid alarm will be sounded for the entire region. These changes are being introduced to ensure stable operations in enterprises and organizations.

About the changes in the alert system in Cherkasy, announced the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Ihor Taburets. According to him, the new modifications have been approved by relevant services and military authorities:

  • In case of danger from enemy UAVs, differentiation will occur by districts. The "Air Alert" signal will be received by specific areas of the region where a target is directly detected or there is a potential threat, particularly from the operation of air defense systems.
  • In the case of missile threats: no changes. That is, an air alert will be declared simultaneously across the entire region.

According to Taburets, the changes are being implemented considering the number of alerts. The region aims to ensure stable operations in enterprises, organizations, and institutions.
