In February, some reservists may be mobilized: find out when and why this could happen.

In Ukraine, the reservation period for all conscripted individuals ends on February 28. If a business no longer meets the status of being critically important or fails to fulfill necessary criteria, its employees automatically lose the right to reservation. This was reported by Oleksandr Fedienko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.

Since such conscripted individuals are registered, territorial recruitment centers (TRC) have the legal right to mobilize them, he noted in a comment to Glavcom.ua. According to the MP, TRC leaders are accommodating businesses in the defense, communications, and energy sectors by giving them time to re-reserve employees.

Fedienko explained that mobilization tasks (MT) for reserving conscripted employees are determined, in particular, for the agro-industrial sector. This includes planning production volumes of goods necessary for the military, considering the capacities of the enterprises.

He added that regional military administrations form such tasks based on the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the capabilities of specific enterprises. However, recent checks have shown that some businesses do not meet the established criteria, leading to a loss of mobilization tasks. Nevertheless, employees of these enterprises remained reserved.

Fedienko reminded that the reservation of employees is approved by the Ministry of Economy. Even in the event of a temporary loss of mobilization tasks by a business, the reservation status of the employees remained valid.

"The situation is becoming increasingly complex due to the need to balance between staffing critically important enterprises and replenishing the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After February 28, some reserved employees may be mobilized. Therefore, it is worth considering the possibility of joining military units through the recruitment mechanism provided by current legislation," emphasized the MP.

Incident of Mobilization of Reserved Employee in Mykolaiv Region

He also mentioned an incident in Mykolaiv region when a reserved employee of a critical enterprise was mobilized, allegedly canceling his deferment. It later turned out that TRC staff do not have the authority to annul reservations for conscripted employees of critical enterprises.

In the document published by the deputy, it is noted that during a check of the military registration data of one citizen in the Tyachiv TRC, it was discovered that there was no information about his being on special military registration. This became the basis for his call to service during the general mobilization.
