In the Izmail TCC and SP in Odesa region, mobilized men have declared a hunger strike. They are protesting against being sent to the front lines. They also claim that military commissars are threatening them with criminal charges for evading service.

A video of the situation has been shared online. The author claims it was filmed on Thursday, January 2.

The man stated that he and six others are being held illegally in the TCC gym. According to him, all of them have "health issues."

The video creator mentions that they have allegedly been attempted to be sent "to the front" twice, but they refused. Therefore, they are now supposedly facing criminal charges.

"They are threatening us with criminal charges. Article 336 (evasion of military service during mobilization - ed.), from three to five years," one of the mobilized men shared.

Scandals involving TCC

On December 3, a video surfaced in Odesa’s public forums, depicting a fight between a TCC representative and a civilian. The footage shows how a military officer attempted to stop a fleeing man using a gas canister, but the man retaliated in kind.

In Lviv region, in November, a conscripted man assaulted a TCC representative who was accompanying him for military-medical commission procedures. The man fled but was later found. Two criminal proceedings were opened against the evader, and ultimately, he ended up in pre-trial detention.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced plans to reform the territorial centers for recruitment and social support (TCC and SP). It is stated that new structures will be created to carry out mobilization activities. Additionally, TCC and SP are planned to be transferred under the command of the Ministry of Defense (currently, TCC is subordinate to the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
