On November 26, the government approved a new procedure for the return of unfit or unsafe food products. This was reported on November 27 by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The new procedure will take effect simultaneously with the new edition of the law "On Consumer Rights Protection," that is, after the termination or cancellation of martial law.
"The proposed mechanism will protect consumer rights while also providing businesses with the opportunity to quickly resolve disputes with consumers without resorting to court. This will to some extent safeguard honest businesses from inspections and serve as a reliable mechanism for protecting consumer rights," explained Deputy Minister Tatyana Berezhnaya.
Consumers will be able to exchange unfit/unsafe products or receive refunds for them. Clear deadlines for the return or exchange of products, as well as the procedures for both the consumer and the seller, have been established.
In particular, products can be returned or exchanged:
If the products were purchased online, the return and exchange periods begin from the moment the goods are actually received by the customer.
