On the night of November 13, the Russian Armed Forces conducted a combined strike on Ukraine, with the Air Force recording 96 targets. However, the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, Lieutenant Andrei Kovalenko, stated that this attack is not the major one that the enemy has already prepared for.
"The Russians have accumulated cruise missiles and continue to do so for the winter. The use of strategic aviation confirms this," he informed.
The U.S. embassy in Kyiv reported that they received information about a "potential significant air attack on November 20." Diplomats were urged to take cover, and American citizens were advised to be ready to immediately seek shelter if an air raid alert is declared.
Kovalenko reminded that the Russian Armed Forces have been stockpiling missiles for "a series of shellings" for months. He clarified that this concerns missiles of types X-101 and "Kalibr," as well as ballistic missiles.
"The Russian aviation is prepared for shelling, along with missile stockpiles at strategic aviation airfields and storage facilities. Ships are also included," added the head of the CPD.
Due to information about a potential massive shelling on November 20, embassies in Ukraine have closed. The U.S. embassy was the first to announce this, followed by the embassies of Spain, Italy, and Greece, which ceased operations due to the threat.
The Embassy of Kazakhstan urged its citizens to leave areas close to active combat zones or Ukraine as a whole. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that for Ukrainians, the threat of shelling has been a daily reality for over 1000 days. The Ministry criticized partners for "additional information escalation" and urged Ukrainians not to ignore alerts.
The Main Intelligence Directorate warned that Russia is conducting a massive information-psychological attack against Ukraine. A supposed warning about an "especially" massive shelling on November 20 is spreading online under the name of the GUR.
"The enemy, unable to subdue Ukrainians by force, resorts to intimidation and psychological pressure on society. We ask you to remain vigilant and resilient. Do not ignore air raid signals — it is safer to wait in a shelter. However, we urge you not to succumb to panic," stated the intelligence agency.
Kovalenko also warned about Russia's attempts to stir panic in Ukraine. He acknowledged that the enemy has been preparing for attacks in the cold, stockpiling missiles, and preparing aviation and the navy. According to the head of the CPD, the focus is on cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as UAVs to deplete air defense.
However, Kovalenko emphasized that Moscow's plans are not unexpected, and the presence of various types of missiles in the Russian arsenal was already known. He advised Ukrainians to think about where to hide in case of a threat and to keep an eye on the Air Force's messages. The lieutenant assured that the enemy's plans are known to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and there will be a response.
Several anonymous users on social media reported that the Russian Armed Forces might launch the RS-26 "Rubezh" missile at Ukraine. This information was also disseminated by MP Boryslav Bereza and war correspondent Andrei Tsaplyenko.
Defense Express analysts reported that the first launch of the "Rubezh" missile took place on September 27, 2011, and the current status of this development is unknown.
The exact specifications of the RS-26 "Rubezh" are unknown, but it is likely that the missile weighs 40-50 tons and has a range of 6000 km. It is noted that it could be equipped with four separate warheads, each with a yield of 0.3 Mt (similar to the RS-24 "Yars") and a hypersonic gliding block of the "Avangard" type.
On the morning of November 20, residents of Kyiv heard a loud noise, similar to the sound of aircraft. The Kyiv City State Administration explained that the noise was related to the operation of a large heat source. Kyiv residents were assured that there was no threat to the population and that the process was under control.
Let us remind you that a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Serhiy Nahorniak, named a condition for lifting power outage schedules in Ukraine.
