The Russian "Shahed" nearly struck the Office of the President during the morning attack on Kyiv on January 1, 2025. This was reported by MP Marianna Bezuhla.

According to the politician, this incident occurred because the personnel from mobile air defense units were reassigned to infantry roles.

"No, it wasn't missiles; the 'Shaheds' bypassed the air defense and almost hit the Office of the President of Ukraine. This is a consequence of systemic, long-standing issues with military management in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: when personnel from mobile fire groups were redirected to infantry, the number of groups was reduced, and a layered air defense system in Kyiv has yet to be established (!) — not to mention other cities. It has reached absurd situations across Ukraine, where the same 'Patriots' are positioned in the opposite direction. They still haven't been moved. Still," Bezuhla noted.

"It's interesting how Syrskiy has been lying to the President today. Does he still think it works? What if it hits directly in the office? Will that be the 'red line' after which the 'Soviets' led by a Russian-mentality general are finally expelled?" — she added.
